Donald's book on Resilience is loaded with techniques like this and I am only half way through it. The best part, is that Donald has a bibliography at the end of each chapter so you can go to the primary reference to get more details on each technique. Note: I have read other books on resilience and they are no way as good as Donald's book. See Build Your Resilience: CBT, Mindfulness and Stress Management to Survive and Thrive in Any Situation by Donald Robertson.
Donald, at. my ripe age I find techniques.you scribe most useful. I will definitely add it to other techniques I have found over the past 6 years. I am a big proponent of DBT. Sally and I live in Seattle, Washington. We attended a presentation of DBT (Dialectic Behavioral therapy) given by Marsha Linehan. Marsha is close to retiring. Might you know of a someone I might contact in the Seattle area? Or for that matter anyone I might at least contact.
Thanks very much. I don't think I know many people in Seattle. I'm actually now based in Montreal, Canada. I'll think about it, though, and see if anyone comes to mind.
Donald, this is great. Thanks for sharing this technique. By the way, you mentioned you have taught CBT in the past. Is there a credible training to be certified in CBT available today?
That's not an easy question to answer because it will depend on your existing qualifications, the career you're hoping to get into, where you live, and several other factors. I can only really comment on training in the UK but I haven't lived there for about a decade so my advice would be a bit dated. My best advice would be to look for the professional organizations who accredit CBT practitioners in your region and reach out to them for advice on training.
This is an excellent technique Donald, thank-you. It works for me, gives me a focus point to still the mind. I have recently developed tinnitus and I have been searching for something to help regain that focus. I will be using this technique frequently.

Thanks. That is helpful. Cheers, Robert
This really does work, I just tried it today, thank you. I’m curious Donald, have you any research or experience with psychedelics?
Thank you
Thanks. I've never been involved with any actual research on psychedelics, no.
I’ll practice this technique to get familiar with it and continue to approach my insecurities in an accepting way. Thanks very much.
