Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication, the Stoicism: Philosophy as a Way of Life subscriber chat. NB: This feature was previously only available on Apple devices but from today it should now be activated on Android as well.

I am setting up a conversation space in the Substack app exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.

To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.

I’ve already posted an initial chat titled Ask me anything about Marcus Aurelius. Feel free to post your questions there on Thursday, when I’ll be responding throughout the day. (I’ve just written three books in a row about Marcus!)

How to get started

  1. Download the app by clicking this link or the button below.

  1. Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.

  1. That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.

I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello!

Hi Donald. I just wanted to reach out and thank you for everything you do for the Stoic community. I have been working my way through your books and listening to all the podcasts you feature on. I absolutely love your work and it has given me so many tools to improve my life and become a better person and live in congruence with nature. Being a leader myself, I am really looking forward to tomorrow's virtual conference, I may not be able to make it real time as I am in Australia and it's at 3.30 am for me but will definitely be watching it back. I am really grateful for the work you produce, so thank you again.

Thank you for your insights Donald. My question is I believe you mentioned in one of your books that your father was a Freemason and I’m interested to learn what the links are between Stoicism and Freemasonry because there appears to be many similarity’s
