I meant "Now Warriors glory in their wounds, and delight to see the blood flowing beneath their breastplates, because Valor is greedy for Danger, and tarries not in thinking about the obstacles to be overcome " Seneca

Thanks Donald--So much to think about--Emerson and the Stoics may be distant cousins

"No Warriors Glory in their Wounds, and delight in lifting their breastplates and seeing the blood flowing beneath their gash " Seneca

"Man is timid and apologetic, he dares not say I think, or do, yet quote some saint or sage,

learn to reverence that beam of truth that comes into your mind rather than the firmament of bards or sages " Emerson
